Learning and sharing is at the heart of our Knowledge Management Programme and the Experience Capitalisation Process forms its foundation. To incentivise the process, we have created the KNOWLYMPICS – our Knowledge Sharing Games!
The 9th KNOWLYMPICS had a special focus on Engaging Men and Boys in Gender Equality. This year, 15 organisations from 7 countries participated.

CONGRATULATIONS to you and your teams and thank you for making the games possible!
The prize money is supposed to be invested in Knowledge Management or Capacity Enhancing activities or any other measures that support the work of their projects. In the past, the prizes were used for trainings in monitoring and evaluation, exchange visits and a laptop to support documentation.
We are very happy about the results of this year’s games and would like to thank all of the participants!
This year, we also want to recognise organisations from Mozambique and Central America that still took the time to submit questionnaires, despite learning that budget cuts mean they will unfortunately not be part of the next ADA framework programme.
As a token of appreciation, the two organisations that did not make it into the top three will each receive € 500,-. Thank you, FUNDESYRAM and Young Africa, for sharing your experience even during these challenging times!
Be sure to check out the other submissions! If you have access, you can also head over to the h3 Knowledge Hub to explore their in-detail questionnaires (use the search bar!).
Here is a selection:
The participating organisations shared their experiences and promoted a learning process within their organisations. Using our questionnaires to systematically document experiences, they trigger a process of reflection and answer questions such as what has worked, what hasn’t, and – most importantly – why. This is where learning begins and this is what we want to draw on.
By creating accessible one-page presentations of these questionnaires (Experiences 'At-a-Glance') we try to make knowledge palatable, motivating more people to engage with it.
The submissions are evaluated on the basis of specific qualifying criteria. They are ranked based on clarity, compelling nature, and implementation, as well as potential for replicability and adaptability.
