Details

  • The advisory assignment supports the Mill Hill Missionaries in East Africa in strengthening their organisational structures and capacities to improve the quality, effectiveness, and sustainability of their development work. The organisation runs a diverse range of initiatives in the neglected Karamojong area, including natural resource management, livelihood improvement, social business, and education. The advisor's main role is to assist the leadership and project teams in further professionalising their approach to gender-sensitive development programming, with the aim of expanding their donor base and diversifying their project portfolio.
  • Key areas of support include the introduction and training on new digital knowledge management tools, to streamline data handling and improve institutional memory. A central component of the assignment is the co-development of a strategic plan, with inclusive processes involving the regional and general councils, and the design and roll-out of relevant policies and guidelines to enhance programme management.
  • The advisor also assists in reviewing ongoing development initiatives, advising on restructuring where necessary, and supporting the development of new project concepts that align with the strategic priorities. Through workshops, coaching, and collaborative planning, the assignment strengthens the capacity of the Mill Hill Missionaries to better manage and scale their community-based development work in a sustainable and impactful way.
  • SDG targets: 16.6; 17.9
