Goals

  • The advisory assignment focuses on strengthening the business development capacities of the Diocese of Lodwar’s social enterprises to ensure financial sustainability and long-term economic stability. Conducted in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Vienna, the assignment enhances business planning, financial management, and marketing strategies to generate additional income that supports the Diocese’s pastoral work and staff well-being.
  • The advisor supports business managers in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and marketing, ensuring that each social enterprise operates efficiently and aligns with broader strategic goals. Training workshops improve customer service, sales techniques, and overall management competencies. The assignment also facilitates collaboration between social enterprises within the same business sector to foster knowledge sharing and efficiency improvements.
  • Key achievements include the development of an economic strategy for 2024-2025, the creation of a management manual for the Diocese’s rental program, and the successful acquisition of high-profile tenders for integrated accommodation and hospitality services. The advisor also contributes to governance and organizational development by co-authoring the occupational health and safety policy and supporting the Diocese’s participation in the Holistic Organizational Capacity Assessment Instrument (HOCAI).
  • Through these efforts, the assignment strengthens the Diocese’s institutional structures for business management, enhances revenue generation, and ensures long-term financial resilience.
  • SDG targets: 8.3; 9.3; 17.3
