Advisor

Gabriele Meßner-Mitteregger studied biology and has completed additional courses in Public Relation and Sustainable Development. Her professional career is characterized by her preferences for environmental protection and communication. Her third passion is her interest in the diversity of life and cultures.

  • The advisory assignment focuses on strengthening the communication and advocacy capacities of the Seed Savers Network Kenya (SSN). Through a collaborative approach, the advisor supports the SSN team in developing an integrated communication and advocacy strategy that aligns with the organisation’s mission. The aim is to enhance the visibility and impact of SSN's work while empowering the team to engage meaningfully with stakeholders, partners, and the public.
  • A core part of the advisor's role involves training staff in modern and gender-sensitive communication tools and practices, enabling effective external communication and strategic outreach. This includes building capacity in digital communications, content creation, and the use of social media platforms. Additionally, the assignment includes training on how to establish and maintain purposeful networks that support advocacy goals, amplify key messages, and foster collaboration.
  • By equipping the SSN team with tailored knowledge and skills, the advisor promotes institutional learning and the professionalisation of communication practices. The assignment ultimately aims to support SSN in becoming a more influential voice in the fields of biodiversity, agroecology, and food sovereignty, strengthening its position within national and regional advocacy landscapes.
