Details

  • The advisory assignment supports the Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network (EPN) in strengthening its policy advocacy work to enhance access to essential medicines and promote equitable health systems. The advisor collaborates with EPN's technical staff, members, and key stakeholders to plan and implement targeted advocacy actions aligned with the EPN Strategic Plan. These actions focus on shaping health-related policies through evidence-based policy research, stakeholder engagement, and effective communication.
  • Central to the assignment is building and maintaining strategic partnerships across sectors, including faith-based institutions, government agencies, NGOs, and the pharmaceutical industry. The advisor plays a pivotal role in facilitating faith-based advocacy hubs that engage religious leaders, youth, and community actors in advancing public health goals. The assignment also includes coordination with multi-sectoral platforms and participation in technical working groups to ensure EPN's voice is heard in relevant policy spaces.
  • Another critical aspect of the assignment involves preparing advocacy materials such as position papers, policy briefs, and public statements, and supporting advocacy champions within the network. These efforts aim to amplify the perspectives of EPN members and communities they serve, contributing to better-informed policy decisions and stronger health systems. The advisory ultimately enhances EPN's capacity to influence national and global health policies in a way that centers equity, rights, and the needs of vulnerable populations.
  • SDG targets: 3.8; 16.6; 17.17
