During COP30 in Belém, Austria’s Minister of Agriculture, Norbert Totschnig, along with his entourage, accompanied by journalists and parliamentarians, met our partner MAB's Climate Justice Project.

The delegation visited the forest and fruit tree nursery maintained by MAB in partnership with the Emmaus Movement, in the Benguí neighbourhood. It is part of the Climate Justice for the Amazonian People Project, developed by the MAB, with support from horizont3000, DKA-Austria and Sei So Frei Salzburg, through funds from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Economy.

The meeting enabled the exchange of experiences on popular reforestation, community organisation and climate justice in the Amazon, essential elements for strengthening the resistance of the affected peoples.

We are grateful to the BMLUK for their financial contribution and for our good cooperation. Further support is urgently needed to ensure the project can continue.

„Planting is sowing hope, cultivating a future where nature and justice go hand in hand!“
