Our Organsation

The International Catholic Mission Society missio Munich constitutes one of the German branches of the Pontifical Mission Societies.

It has a dual task:

  • to raise and strengthen the missionary awareness of the faithful as a community of learning, prayer, and solidarity in Germany;
  • to provide both financial and non-material support for the mission of local Churches in Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

The Gospel of the Kingdom of God promises all human beings holistic liberation. Individuals, communities, and societies within the Church work together, contributing their individual skills and expertise, to serve the goal of liberation, which is fraught with many different hardships and challenges. The main focus of missio‘s co-operation work is on the pastoral work of the Church.

more about us

Our Values

social engagement
We are faith-driven and credible. Our Christian values shape our openness, honesty, solidarity, and prayerful community. We engage others respectfully and promote dialogue and hospitality. We act with commitment and foresight, always seeking solutions. Our expertise is ensured through exchange and networking. At missio Munich, we take responsibility at all levels and work to improve lives through global partnership and social engagement.

Why We Joined the Idea

support access
Many institutions lack reliable electricity. Solar energy empowers local communities, strengthens healthcare and education, and promotes climate justice. As a mission-driven organization, we believe energy access is a human right and a foundation for dignity, development, and sustainability.

Expected Impact

Stability for all
Through the Solar Pledge, we aim to improve daily life in East African communities by providing sustainable, reliable energy. Solar power enables medical care, education, and economic activity, especially in rural areas. By reducing dependency on fossil fuels, we promote climate resilience. Our engagement supports long-term development, strengthens local ownership, and fosters hope and opportunity.
