St. Brigit’s Health Centre Kalemnyang is located in a remote area with no access to the national grid. The facility once benefited from the construction of a maternity wing, which greatly improved care for expectant mothers and their newborns. However, the solar system that once powered the facility stopped working after a few years. Today, health workers rely on the dim light of mobile phones at night to attend to patients, making their work difficult and stressful. With a reliable solar energy system, the health center would be able to provide better services, especially during emergencies, and staff would regain the motivation and support needed to serve the community effectively.
