Goal

Almost all donor countries have substantially reduced their development aid. Rescue Dada Centre helps girls who live on the streets – or who risk ending up on the streets – to get a second chance. As donor support keeps reducing, the organization struggles to fund its annual budget and the aim of this assignment is to support the partner in establishing and operationalizing a series of social enterprises. Earning some own income will reduce the organization’s donor dependence and increase its ability to fund some of its social roles from its own purse.

Advisor

After a decade in program management and several years of self-employment, Ward Tanghe reconnects with his old role of business development advisor. Strengthened by extensive management experience, he is to support Dada Rescue Centre in becoming more self-reliant through the identification and development of sustainable business activities.

Partner Organisation - Rescue Dada Centre (RDC)

Rescue Dada Centre (RDC) is a charitable children institution in Nairobi. The Centre was established in 1992, as an organisation doing street work to get to understand the circumstances of the girls living on the streets while operating a walk-in Centre, where street-connected children could come to share about their life experiences with social workers.
